Ground-based testing

Single-event effects (SEE) testing evaluates how electronic components react to individual high-energy particles, while total ionizing dose (TID) testing assesses the cumulative radiation effects over time. It provides valuable insights into long- as well as short-term reliability.

Realtime Event Detection

Radiation testing of electronic components for space applications with real-time event detection involves monitoring the components’ performance during exposure to radiation in a controlled environment. The goal is to detect and analyse any real-time changes or anomalies in the components’ behavior.

Compliance with Space Standards

Reliability Assurance

Space agencies, such as ESA or NASA, require electronic components to undergo specific radiation tests to meet stringent space environment standards. Radiation testing ensures compliance with these standards and provides a high level of confidence in the reliability of electronic components. It helps to identify weak points in the design or materials and allows to develop effective mitigation strategies to protect the components.

New Space Missions

Possessing a long experience in the performance of radiation up-screening tests for ESA missions and with the increasing demand on these activities necessary to qualify new devices for usage in New Space missions, DSI is continuously investing in the further development of its own radiation testing capabilities.
