Hardware Development Engineer [R&D]

DSI Aerospace GmbH develops innovative hardware and software solutions and computer technologies for space applications. We are looking for skilled and motivated colleagues who are passionate about development and verifying high-quality and elegant hardware engineering solutions for the leading European satellite missions.

What do we expect from you?

  • Degree in Elec­tri­cal Engi­neer­ing, Aero­space Engi­neer­ing or a com­pa­ra­ble edu­ca­tion
  • Ide­al­ly more than 3 years of pro­fes­sion­al expe­ri­ence in the field of cir­cuit design, analy­sis and com­mis­sion­ing, prefer­ably in the aero­space sec­tor
  • Very good expe­ri­ence in the field of cir­cuit design, prepa­ra­tion of analy­ses and trou­bleshoot­ing
  • As a plus: tak­ing into account ECSS or oth­er stan­dards and usage of Altium Design­er and Spice tools
  • Expe­ri­ence with and com­fort­able in han­dling elec­tron­ic test and mea­sure­ment equip­ment such as oscil­lo­scope
  • Ini­tia­tive, enthu­si­asm and the abil­i­ty to work in a team and on large projects
  • A struc­tured, inde­pen­dent and respon­si­ble approach to work and a high lev­el of qual­i­ty aware­ness
  • Good ver­bal and writ­ten com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills in Eng­lish and prefer­ably also in Ger­man

What are your responsibilities?

  • Par­tic­i­pa­tion in excit­ing, nation­al and inter­na­tion­al research activ­i­ties devel­op­ing space tech­nolo­gies beyond the state-of-the-art
  • Devel­op­ment of dig­i­tal and ana­logue cir­cuits for space elec­tron­ics with focus on high-speed dig­i­tal inter­faces.
  • Schemat­ic design and PCB lay­out using Altium Design­er with up to 20 lay­ers HDI designs
  • (EEE) com­po­nent selec­tion for dif­fer­ent mod­els e.g. EM/EQM/FM
  • Per­form sim­u­la­tions for cir­cuit parts using tools such as Spice
  • Prepa­ra­tion of analy­sis doc­u­ments, e.g. worst case analy­sis, der­at­ing, reli­a­bil­i­ty and pow­er
  • Require­ment engi­neer­ing and close co-work­man­ship with the sys­tems engi­neer­ing
  • Supporting/preparing of exter­nal man­u­fac­tur­ing process­es (PCB man­u­fac­tur­ing and board assem­bly)
  • Ini­tial oper­a­tion and com­mis­sion­ing of devel­oped cir­cuits
  • Spec­i­fi­ca­tion and exe­cu­tion of elec­tri­cal and option­al envi­ron­men­tal test pro­ce­dures
  • Pos­si­bil­i­ty to attend con­fer­ences or work­shops to dis­cuss the lat­est inno­va­tions with oth­er tech­ni­cal experts and to present achieve­ments
